Also known as nitrous oxide, is a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide used to mildly sedate the patient. It is used for nervous children and adults for many dental procedures. It also helps in minimizing gagging in patients with a strong gag reflex. The gas is eliminated from the body after 3 to 5 minutes after the supply is stopped.
