Grafting

A common periodontal procedure done to cover exposed tooth root surface with grafted oral tissue. Overtime, gum tissue can recede around the tooth exposing the root surface. This can happen due to periodontal disease, trauma, aggressive brushing, or the pull from muscle attachments in the mouth. Recession can lead to sensitivity, bone loss, and a higher risk of root surface decay if left untreated. Treatment by grafting reduces discomfort while eating and drinking, improves appearance of teeth by making your smile more symmetrical, and improves overall gum and bone health.
